It's been a while i haven't post nothing,i promise to give you something worth witness for. this is actually my favorite local band ever from Jakarta. Tika and the Dissidents.
I hardly find myself as a music expert and I don't know how to seperate genre of music but I like to call their music as dark jazz. Terribly sorry if i misclassified it but I can never ever resist
a mind twisting melody within a blink of eyes could transform you into a spellbounding imaginations and emotions. I remember the very first time i watched Tika, the vocalist, on a high-school
music performance. She sings without her band but having a duet with another singer which I don't really remember. It is kind of rare for me to find the right music and having such a 'love at first sight'moment with her performance. The memory is not so vivid until years later I found her songs in my friend's ipod. I was grotesquely very happy, it is like found a great porn matches your fetish. Their music is so different from other bands at that time. I know people are likely connect them with Portishead or Billie Holiday, but they are successfully making uniquely ravishing sounds. My favorite songs are 'Under Their Feet' and 'Tentang Petang'. these songs are gloomy and it's just stimulate me into Alexander McQueen-ish realm of beauty. Their song 'Clausmophobia' tells us about hypocrisy of society that mistreated homosexuality.

surrounded by candles and sensual feeling. I proudly admit their music is inspire me as a fashion designer. It is dark,different and honestly, not so much acceptable in society because their song isn't that easy listening like pop but complicated as my designs as well ;D.
