+SHE'S NOT ASHAMED FOR BEING NOT SIMPLE+

I believe people might think people at my age prefer something minimalist, cubicle, futuristic and simple interior designs. They are totally wrong, to be surrounded by antique things makes me feel like i am a part of masterpieces instead of cold robots in an exhibition. I just don't like the cold and stiff feeling that makes me feel awkward. I don't even like over the top glamorous gold renaissance styles which makes me feel like i'm in a piece of 80's versace's blouse.

I am not very fond of interior designers but this lady from Turkey catch my eyes and heart deeply.
Zeynep Fadillioglu is breaking my heart as she breaks boundaries in her designs. She makes an equilibrium of east and west. She's like to put Ottoman styles on her creations. The way she mix colors, harmonizing textiles, perfect lighting, various and strong concept are talents I incredibly adore. I almost faint when i see her amazing masterpieces even only on photos and videos. What i adore the most of her is she likes to marry spiritual stuffs like Buddha statue or moslem's crescent moon with victorian chandelier and baroque clock. She is like crazy about beliefs and antiquity, she's a true hero of Faith and Ferocity. The very unique signature that i rarely found from interior designers is the paint of the wall. The wall looked so ancient and giving a bit creepy ambiences. it looks like an old dungeon but with stuffs around it looks marvelous. I found this as a 'couture' wall because i believe it has to put a lot of techniques to make it looks so natural.

She's also design the interior of Sakirin Mosque in Istanbul,Turkey. Praying never looked so fabuolous!

"My place was never created as a showhome. I like a shabby look and never go with one style," she says.

+NINE KHALIFA+

I HAVE A TALE TO TELL...

i

This latest collection from Magistus House called Nine Khalifa was shown on ECONIC event Jakarta on 20th October 2011. Spices of middle eastern ambiences fill the whole garments. This collection inspired by 'wali songo',nine gentlemen who spreads muslim thoughts in java. You can see models bringing Krisses, the original javanese dagger as a symbol of protection of your faith. We are trying to tell people bringing faith and spiritual thoughts nowadays is harder than we thought, even for having faith for yourself. Times are never tired to attack , human are no longer trust on what we believe. The model brought  a symbol which i actually design from collaboration of three religion's symbol : muslim('Allah' in arabic),hindu(shiva's trisula symbol),and christian(st.peter's cross). This collection is all about faith and looking ferocious!

+FAG-GOTH HEROES+

I don’t really like to label things especially people. But in reality society like to stamp names on our forehead. We can be whatever we like but we must admit they have ‘nicknames’ to remind varieties.

There’s always a stereotype about Goths and Gays. Both have quite different images. Even for some people considered as very different. On the other hand, gothic boys are never afraid to dress in women’s clothes or wearing make-up. In a countries with lots amount of Goths, this view is not way too strange anymore. Most Goths like to cross dress without thinking their sexual orientation or even the gender. In a developing country like I live goth image is often considered as rockstar but there are misunderstanding to connect Goths with paranormals and mentalists. This misunderstanding happens because what people know from the TV is only mentalists or paranormals who dress ALMOST the same way with Goths.

In my neighborhood, Gay almost always means drag-queen or transvestites. Doesn’t matter how masculine the guy is. In reality, being gay is not always related to femininity. The biggest problem here is people has a new stereotype about gays and it’s CHAOTICLY wrong ‘GAY AS SERIAL KILLER’. Oh my Goth! Where the hell it came from? Well, years ago in my country there are gay serial killer who’s mutilated his victims which most of them are his lovers. Instantly this big news always becoming a new pint of view that considered okay to be trusted and becoming a new stereotype. On a different side I think media taking part of this brain poisoning. What’s becoming a media worthy is always bad news and wrong perception about things. It seems like we don’t have other achievement but doing moron stuffs.

If we talk about this social phenomenon, I can’t stop talking about its deviation thoughts about society. We have to admit the risks of being authentic is needing process to be understood. But there are people in my opinion who’s having these two ‘stereotypes’. They are gays and Goths. Well maybe some of them are not gay or goth but they survive with those images and becoming an inspirations of Goths and gays. Or maybe they are inspired by these two stereotypes.
