Love the lyrics!
Am I the only living thing in this city who think that being different is okay? Well it is not easy of course but from what I see in society, especially the young urban one, most of them are not fashion blinded, they all know different kind of clothing and styles. i am not here to judge anything as I don’t like being judged. in reality, every human has so many different kind of stories. I expect people has different kind of styles, too. But from my little observation, youngsters are having tendencies to wear the same look and styles,do the same activity and even talk in a same way with others.
I went to a very hip and famous event, this is like the temporary Mecca for urbanistas. Girls are wearing loose and comfortable chiffon-like blouse with pastels and earthy colors with shorts and the same style and colored shoes. Boys are wearing plaid flannel shirt, jeans and some of them wearing varsity jacket and suede boat shoes. I have nothing against these looks but 90% of people here are typical. I know this is what called trend and fashion, this is what people like nowadays, prove me wrong everyone has different stories but I can’t see it on their clothes. Maybe it is their faith on fashion? They’re having the same faith? really? Maybe people are losing their faith on their style? Or maybe people don’t know how to say it or way too afraid to tell their stories with their clothes?
In the country I live, it is a lot harder to become what you want to become. Our eastern culture is a bit ‘taking care too much’ of others business. I cannot blame it still going on because of our limited education. This happens not only on a fashion side. It is even still becoming a fierce argument with their parents when a high school student is choosing social class instead of science class. It is because of society is still demanding people to be whatever society are expected to be. People here are still thinking it’s better to be an employee instead of entrepreneur. This state of mind is so primitive in my opinion.
I heard a story from a friend of mine, a girl being casted away from their circle of friends just because this girl has a degradation of her mark and having a relationship with a boy outside their circle of friends. One word from me: “SERIOUSLY?”. Can somebody think more logical? This girl did nothing harmful for their friends. This is what happen in our society, people are not educated enough to be so judgmental and never will be. What makes a big change in the world is do something different. I might sounds like a cranky teenage goth craving for attention but hey,i knew a bit about this. It is not easy, I stood on my feet as I am. people knew me as I am. Struggle for your own statement, dear!
