+REACH 2012+

So this is where I spent for the last 6days outside hot hot Jakarta. It’s a very great event developed by Buddha Dharma Indonesia Foundation every year in Mega Mendung, West Java. A summer camp which really concern about any kind of art that mostly didn’t taught enough at schools. There are so many classes like fashion, singing, stomp dance, cooking and etc. The participants are from all over Indonesia. It’s such a great experience for having new friends, to learn new cultures and learn how to socialize.
Most of the participants are from elementary school students to college students. I wasn’t there to be one of the students of course, I was invited to be one of fashion teachers with my college lecture Ichwan Thoha.  This is my second time invited to be fashion teacher in this event, last year I taught fashion history, but this year I taught fashion concept and its correlation with music. It’s more like holiday for me than work, the atmosphere is extremely fun and fulfilled with EXTREMELY NICE people. You can’t be angry, no matter how.
The first day we came, we’re having a little tour around the location. This is Myogan Ji temple, a Japanese Buddha temple which crowded by congregation every 5 am and 5 pm.

These are graves of the first person who brings the religion. Buried besides his wife. "'till death do us part".
We found this ancient Japanese style house, it looks like half buried. We're so ecstatic to take a photo, reminds me of houses in movie The Ring. Thanks Donna for taking this photo.

Gang of fashion class on Youth Monument. At the end of the event every students gather here to read the writings on monument like an oath ceremony.
Each contingent from all over city has to make a monument or an installation that represents their meaning of the contingent name, and their passion. One of the installation almost made me cry, because I really get the meaning of it and so inspiring. And I even  forgot to take a photo of it, silly me.

This installation is my favorite. So bionic, steam punk, futuristic yet post-apocalyptic. It matches my ring!

Ah-mazing installation from REACH committee. Fashion crews are a bit narcissistic. Had to be!

And this is me teaching. Most of my friends always say 'kinky' when I told them I teach. I don't get why, I just take it as a compliment. lol.
These are mood boards they've made with various concepts related to music genres. It divided by three big genres: Jazz, Rock, and Dang Dut. Then it divided into sub genres. This year they don't dress the model, but dress the singers.
With so many choices of clothes and accessories, There are still some racks of clothes around the class. who can handle not to try?

Oh  I obviously CAN'T! I found this white lace blouse which..looks good on me

This is me with Rika, singer participants who sang 80's rock song "Tua Tua Keladi". Femme Fatale is their theme for the show. I've made the flogger by my own hand in 20 minutes!
I looked a bit like cow in that photo.By the way, only the singer who's allowed to wear shoes, it's like their culture to bare foot inside room, especially when the venue of the show is actually a Vihara.

Those are singers on stage, receiving comments from the judges. They're having nice performance for singers who just learn to sing for only 6days. I'm so hoping to come back again next year to spread knowledge and absorbs fun and passion of youth.
